Nugget

by Brandi
(Evansville, Indiana)

So Nugget is approx 5 months old. His body length is approx 19 in long (not including tail).

He was given to us by a neighbor whose young kids just aren't good with animals. He claimed us as his family months before hand, though.

He loves to sleep in between my husband and I at night. During the day, he sleeps right up next to me and suckles my blanket.

He likes to run up and jump up our legs, grabbing on (no claws engaged). When he jumps in the air, he twists and turns his body in such a way that makes us all literally laugh out loud.

When in the kitchen, he likes to be underfoot (and sits on feet) and when my husband is working on home improvement stuff, Nugget likes to crawl up and lay in his lap.

When we come home, he likes to stand in his hind legs with his front legs on us while meowing his soft, quiet meow.

He has long hair coming out of his ears and in between his foot pads (no tuffs on the tips of his ears though).

He loves belly rubs and loves to be right with me, following me from room to room.

When I do downstairs, he follows along. When I start heading back up, he just looks at me like "what are you doing", but when I call his name he runs to me and back up the stairs we go.

If I'm in my bedroom and call for him, he runs to my room and jumps on the bed and curls up next to me.

Eddington

by Katie
(Scotland, UK)

Here's Eddington. He's a rescue cat, had been a stray for a while. He's around 3 now.

I note a number of MC features including tufted ears, toes, and splendid ruff. His tail (not in shot) is also magnificent.

Another possibility might be Norwegian Forest Cat X, but he has more of a dished profile, similar to MC but not with such a pronounced muzzle.

Perhaps half-and-half MC/moggy? He's a beauty, that's for sure. :-)

Are they gonna be Maine Coon-ish?

by Mousum
(Bangladesh)

One of the breeders I know has got a new litter of kittens from a Maine Coon father & British Shorthair mother.

Out of 4 kittens 1 is female (carbon copy of their father), the 1st of 3 brothers is similar with Maine Coon-ish tail & coat type, 2nd & 3rd of the brothers are similar to their mother & more British Short Hair-ish though the coat patterns are similar as the sister.

How would the Maine Coon-ish sister & brother would end up look like?

Maine Coon Kitten Mix

by Jess
(West Virginia)

This little bundle of joy was found beneath floorboards. She is wonderful. So much expression in her eyes.

She has a very unique cry and is around 8wks old in that picture. I have never seen markings like hers which lead me to start researching. I believe that I have a Maine Coon but not 100% sure.

Milo cat!

by Madi
(Canada)

Milo is unlike any other cat.

He is so so intelligent and sweet and loving, loyal- dog like, bigger than a lot of cats, has tufts in his ears and paws, but not the typical Maine Coon colouring.

He has typical domestic long hair colouring. But he is so different from most cats I can’t help thinking he is unique. He is also 3 years old now...

He “understands” things and behaviour better than other cats I have noticed, and he once again is SO SMART.

His characteristics to me have some Maine coon in them which makes me wonder if he has some Maine coon in his family line! What do you think?

I've Just Brought Home This Cutie

The seller didn't mention breed, other than mum is part Maine Coon. Do you think he resembles a Maine Coon?

Angel

by Mary Jenkins

Angel is so sweet. She's always with me but if we have company she runs and hides and you won't see her until she gets to know the person that comes in the house. She's got a sweet personality.

Our Princess Prisilla

by Evelyn King
(Crawfordsville, Indiana)

She was given to us by a homeless person because she could not take her on the bus. She told us she was a Maine Coon, and she has all the traits. She is 7 and weighs 13 pounds.
