Karrot my maincoon

My Maincoon Karrot, short for 24 karrot Orange Crush is orange and beautiful and full of energy.

He is 3 years young. He is my love! He is a purr purr! Always purring.

Loves hanging out with our 2 Goldens, but they won’t give him they time of day because they're jealous that he gets to lay on the sofa or bed, and they can’t.

He is spoiled but as I say, you can never spoil them too much.

I’m very ashamed to say that I got her on sale because she’s the runt of the litter, but I’m happy to have her. She’s quiet, very sweet, and a scaredy cat who hates strangers and noises. She’s a sweetheart

Our "King", Kabuki

by Paul Lortz
(Salt Lake City, Ut. U.S.A.)

When we got him 8 years ago, the people at the regional "Adopt-a-Thon listed him as a "Domestic Longhair. They did not even know that they had a Maine Coon.

He loves water out of the bathtub, or water fountain. When riled up, he lets loose with what my wife and I call "The Chewbacca Call" which scares any unwanted local cats.

He also loves to come up on my computer desk and place his chin & neck up so I will give his long "Lion Mane" and chest hair a good grushing. The instant we touch him, his big motor starts up.

He is EXTREMELY affectionate and loves to sleep like a hat on our heads nightly.

MEET IZZY!

by Bindi Wuertenberg
(Saint Charles, MO USA)

Izzy 3/24

Izzy 3/24

My last Coon boy was 19 when he passed the day after Christmas, 2023. My sweet Milo gave me so much love and joy. He was my heart. And it was breaking.

red tabby maine coon kitten

I knew I’d get another Maine Coon. I just didn’t plan on it so soon. But in February 2024, a red male Maine Coon was going to be available from a breeder a few hours away from my location. I decided to go ahead, and put down my deposit on the kitten with Midwest EuroCoons in Kansas City area, Missouri.

IZZY joined my little family with much energy and curiosity, just as a MaineCoon should!

He has brought us much joy. Gets along with his “brother” ( a rescue kitten) famously, and does not disappoint with his antics! We have so enjoyed him over the last month and 1/2. He is the sweetest boy, loving, smart, funny, and very social. He keeps us busy, and his brother very occupied with his boundless curiosity, and energy.

I know my dear sweet Milo watches from above and approvingly watches over sweet IZZY as he settles into his life with us. Izzy is so much like my Milo was as a kitten. Milo would have loved Izzy. I believe Milo guided me to this sweet energetic red kitten that gives kisses, and loves to play, play, play!

I do love MaineCoons so much. They are so unique, and special. Izzy will be my 5th Coon over the last 30 years. But only my second kitten. My first 3 coons were adopted at 4 or 5 year old, having been unsuccessful breeders/show cats needing new homes. My first died of kidney disease at age 10. My second died of blood and bone cancers at age 9, and my third died of kidney disease at age 12. They were all from the same breeder. And breed and adopted out way before testing for such genetic issues was ever available.

Milo was my first kitten, and now Izzy is my second. After having Milo in my life for 19 years, and doing everything I could possibly think of to help him live be a happy and healthy life as long as possible…., I knew I could not NOT have another mainecoon in my life!

Meet IZZY…, a special, sweet, very personable, social, and joyous mainecoon baby, bringing love and happiness to everyone he meets!

20 pounds, and opening doors!

by Steve
(Laguna Hills)

So we have two Main Coon kittens that just turned 8 months old. Odin and Loki. Same father, different mothers but born 10 days apart. Odin is the younger by 10 days but he just hit 20 pounds, Loki is 18.5 pounds.

We begrudging lock them out of our bedroom from about 10 pm to 7 am, because the two brothers rump and wrestle around our room all night and it sounds like a herd of elephants playing lol.

They both sleep outside our door waiting for us to open up the room every morning.

Last night we heard the door handle rattling to our room, kinda scary lol…then Odin comes strolling in like he just won an Olympic Medal. HE FIGURED OUT HOW TO TURN THE DOOR KNOB ABD OPEN THE DOOR 😂😂😂

And he did it repeatedly, so now we have to lock the door at night to keep the ‘kittens’ out lol

Riddles Junior

by Ginger Tucker
(Terra Alta West Virginia USA)

Riddles was adopted to replace my husband’s cat. My daughter was a manager at a PetCo and a person brought the cat in because her child was allergic.

My daughter is a softie and brought him home for her dad but the cat decided he liked me best!

He hides whenever anybody new comes to the house and is very selective about who he befriends. He prefers ladies! He loves to lay in the sun and take over my chair even when I am sitting on it. He even wants to take over the computer keyboard when I am trying to work.

Telulah

by Gloria
(Kent)

She is a princess and loves to be petted. Every visitor has come to see her.

She takes things from her brother and he never protests.Often she sits up like a raccoon and looks adorable.

Telulsh will squeeze herself into any small basket and claim it as her bed. She loves to lay in water in the bath with the tap running. She also gets her top half into my small pond.

She weighs between 6.5 and 7.5. Her paws are enormous!! Her fur is really thick and deep with orange hues around her ruff.

Both my cats are 7 in May and are brother and sister. Even the vet says she is so pretty and calls her a little lioness.

Telulsh only goes out in the garden and hunts leaves which she proudly struts in with. She is Maine Coon Bengal mix and I would love to know what colour she is known as?

She is loved so much!

Presley Our King

by Marsha
(Central Texas )

Big sweet boy

Big sweet boy

Presley is a rescue kitty at 7 weeks he's now 10 years plus.

He's a big boy (20 pounds) the vet when we took him at 7 weeks for his first check up is the one who said Maine Coon as we had just thought he was an alley cat.

He is a sweet boy most of the time but will show you he's the king. He's very verbal and definitely talks to us actually answering our questions correctly, especially yes and no. Also we sometimes get a why, what, or a hi.

He's an indoor spoiled baby. Presley is a diabetic. We found out when he was 7 years old.

He takes daily insulin shots and will go to his shot place everyday at the right time. He's so very smart and has learned to manipulate his humans.

I could go on and on about this fantastic big boy in fact I could write a book about his antics. He still loves to play, really loves playing chase, peek a boo, and in water.

Here is Presley with who we call his little Mama (my 28 year old daughter) I am big Mama as I took care of hime when she was in college for 4 years.

He still lives with all of us as he doesn't like change and truly wants his family together.

He is very verbal especially to me (big Mama) because we spend so much time together. He is our big baby even though 10 years old.

We feel Presley is part Coon due to size and the vet identifying him as one. Truth is, we honestly do not know as he was a rescue kitty at 7 weeks.

He's very verbal honestly making words to answer our questions.

Yes, he's our little king so he really does have the right name. He's one well love baby boy

Light as a feather…until she wasn’t.

by Marge
(Oregon)

Got this baby when she got dumped in the neighborhood 12 years ago.

Friends kept asking if she was a Maine Coon. Curious, sent in her DNA and test result said she is like 45% MC.

That explains a lot of her personality. Loves water. Ear tufts. Looong whiskers. Curious. Smart. Loves to solve kitty puzzles with treats as prizes! Loves to let me know when I’m running behind her schedule!

Always Looking For a Comfortable Place

by Marge
(Oregon )

My friends kept asking if Feather was a Coonie. Did a DNA test. She is part Maine Coon. That answers many traits she has. Obsession with water. Long hair with extra long whiskers and subtle ear tufts. She is smart enough to solve cat puzzles. She demands HER schedule must be followed at all times. I love her sooo much.

Cinnamon

by Joanne Handlong
(Mesa, Arizona, USA)

Cinnamon is about 15 years old, and is still a healthy, curious, and moderately active companion.

I adopted him from a Maine Coon Rescue 12 years ago. They estimated he was 3 years old.

He is intelligent, independent, and quite regal in his bearing. He was a stray who had obviously been someone’s pet and quickly adjusted to his new home with me.

He is a Maine Coon mix and exhibits a lot of Maine Coon characteristics except that he does not like water!

He is a near constant companion, always near me but not sitting on me except for snuggling across my chest in the morning and some little stints of lap time in the evening. It’s just the two of us growing old together. Actually, we rescued each other!
