Have you ever seen a Red Silver Maine Coon? If not, you're in for a treat!
These cats have one of the most elegant coats in the Maine Coon world, combining a warm red hue with a soft silver undercoat. It's like nature's own masterpiece - bold and gentle at the same time.
This collection continues to grow as part of our Memory Lane project - check back soon for more stories!
But what makes these cats so unique? Well, the "red" part comes from a recessive gene that creates a range of warm shades, from orange to deep red.
Meanwhile, the silver is due to an inhibiting gene that gives them that silvery sheen, especially around the tips of their fur. Curious about how this stunning red-silver coat comes to life? Learn more about the genetics behind Red Silver Maine Coons on our Reds page!
The result? A cat that looks like it's basking in sunlight, no matter the lighting.
You might hear them being called Ginger, Red, Orange, (which can really refer to any Red or Ginger) or in this case people might specify them as Cream, or Buff.
In this "specialty photo album," you'll find some of the most beautiful Red Silver Maine Coons, all proudly modeling their gorgeous coats.

Jojo (reg name is Joseph aka Goggles) Jojo is an 11 Year old Maine Coon Cameo that hails from San Diego.
He is 21 lbs and loves his humans. Like most Maine Coons, he is smart, and impatient when he feels its time to eat.
He goes through the house opening doors to search for everything he has already seen. We love him dearly.

Jasper is 7 and likes to think he rules the small village of Halam where we live. He loves horses and ‘some’ dogs.
We live on a small lane with very little traffic and he likes to lay in the middle of the road tormenting any dogs that dare to pass!
His fur is like Velcro and after being out on an early morning hunting spree he comes home covered in twigs, leaves, brambles, sticky buds, hay and goodness knows what else - it's certainly hard work keeping on top of all that fur but the main thing is he’s happy and who could ask for more

Oliver is my Velcro kitten.
He is so very jealous of anything that I am paying attention to other than him. I am doing work on the computer. He will try to between me and the computer.
He also will try to get between my husband and I if my husband tries to kiss me or hug me and also he’s not real coordinated. He doesn’t always land on his feet when he falls.
Oliver is so physically affectionate! Learn more about the charming, bold personalities of Maine Coons and their loving, playful, and sometimes mischievous temperament.

Maine Coons stay loveable giants and stay very affectionate.
He's going to be be a big one
by: Melissa
He's absolutely gorgeous. Love his paws so profound. If he's just 6 months old
and he's that big...
I have a good feeling he's going to be one of those rare and extra special Maine Coons that get into the top largest category. I'm not thinking of the correct wording but he's definitely going to be a big one.
I'm pretty sure they stop really growing after 2 but I could be short. He's got a lot of time for growing bigger. He's just amazing.
Sir Zulu is pretty big at 17 pounds last I checked and your Coon will outgrow Zulu by the time he's 2 years years old.
Congratulations! Tufted, tufted, ears just perfect! Enjoy the time with him. 😁

Tater is a Red Silver Maine Coon who was born Nov 8, 2018 in Greenville, TX. We got him when he was 8 weeks old. He has been a joy.
I bought him for my husband for a late Christmas present. He came to us with Conjunctivitis.
He started sleeping with me on the spare pillow. He LOVES to lick my neck and gives me kisses on my eyes and nose and lips.
He was neutered at 4 months old. And he gets a fair amount of matted fur on his tummy and on his backside so I have to give him a lion cut. He is now 5 years old.
Tater had a little battle with conjunctivitis, but now he’s as healthy as can be! For tips on keeping your Coonie’s coat and health in top shape, check out our grooming and care guide.

My Maine Coon, Karrot - short for 24 Karrot Orange Crush - is 3 years old now, and still full of energy and mischief. He’s a beautiful orange boy, always purring and full of love.
He’s my little cuddle buddy, and every morning, he greets me by jumping onto my bed, lying on top of the covers and snuggling right on my chest.
Karrot is definitely spoiled, but as I always say, you can never spoil a Maine Coon too much!
He loves hanging out with our two Goldens, though they’re a little jealous of him since he gets to sleep on the sofa and bed, and they can’t.
He’s constantly causing trouble - chewing and scratching things he’s not supposed to, but I can’t help but love him even more for it.
Even though Karrot chirps and meows all around the house, he’s not a fan of baths or being brushed - though I do it anyway!
He’s brought so much joy into our home, and I’m so grateful he’s here with us, living his best life in a loving, forever home.

Hi! I’m Vern. I’ve been teaching my humans how to behave & do what I want them to, and when I want it done! They can’t resist me at all. Maybe I’ll let them stay in my house as long as they behave!
