Wondering what a silver Maine Coon really looks like? You’re in the right place.
This album is packed with photos from our community - real-life silver tabbies, shimmering smokes, and everything in between.
Whether you’re trying to choose a kitten, dreaming about a future Coonie, or just hoping to see what your baby might grow into, these pictures give you a true feel for this color group.
This collection continues to grow as part of our Memory Lane project - check back soon for more stories!
We've included smokes here too - their silvery shimmer fits right in, and the contrast is just stunning in person. From light silver to deep black smoke, you'll see a range of coats that all have that signature sparkle.
These kitties with unusual coats were sent in by readers over the years, and we love being able to gather them in one place. Scroll through and enjoy - there’s something really special about this color group.

Ghost is a 4 month old Silver Shaded Maine Coon kitty with lots of character and spunk.
He is very lovable, curious, vocal, active, and fierce. He loves to play with our 8 month old French Bulldog.

Biscuit is a Classic Silver Tabby and the sweetest animal on earth! He loves everyone - our other 3 cats, who he watches over, and his Cat Mom and Cat Dad.
He is amazingly bright. If we cannot find one of our cats, he will lead us to them if we ask him!
He is absolutely adored. Not to mention completely gorgeous! Everyone at our Vet's loves him - the even have photos of him on their wall.
What a divine creature he is!

Sadie, a Silver Patch Tabby, is 4 years old Maine Coon and she is completely spoiled. She is more quirky than any other cat we have had.
She has a certain meow that announces when she is going to drink water and when she is going to the litter box. Chicken that is roasted is her favorite food.
She absolutely goes crazy meowing until I give a few bites. If I bring in store bought roasted chicken she knows as soon as I enter the house.
Some Coons trill more than others but Sadie constantly does. I love it.

Sadie is a silver tabby I believe. We got her from Kanu Coons in Alabama. It
seems to me that girls are just a little more independent than the boys, but so
sweet and gentle.
We had a male Maine Coon , Samson that passed in July. Boys are so goofy and entertaining. We miss him so much. There is no other breed for me.
Sadie is Gorgeous
Thanks for sharing. Sadie is beautiful
and I love her attitude. I just got a new Maine Coon male kitten. He loves
chicken too. He is also much more vocal than my Ragdoll.

I'm looking to get my first Maine Coon and she's beautiful. What type is she,
and do you have info on where you got her?
Tuna joined our family Thanksgiving weekend. She is all kinds of playful, cuddly and regal all at once!

Centauri is not a pet he's a little people. 5 1/2 yrs old and quite a boy. He shakes hand, comes when you whistle for him (if he wants to), hi 5s, low 5s, rolls over and always ready for a head bump.
Loves tummy rubs. Never having a Coonie before we could never believe they are like they are what awesome intelligence and sweetness.

Silver Simba loves to rise up on his back legs and wave his front legs with a head wag to make me laugh!
Simba is 8 months old and pure love and game playing!
He loves to play soccer with one kibble, batting back and forth before eating it and looking at me, with a chirp to play again.

Ariel and Oberon are both the grey moons of Uranus, and Shakespearian wraiths.
Ariel (smaller one) is the spirit freed by Prospero in "The Tempest", Oberon (bigger one, w/ the 1000-yard stare...) is the king of the fairies in "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
Anyone who has a Maine Coon SHOULD have 2, just for the pure pleasure!

Shadow is such a sweet loving cat! He can be very independent sometimes but will purr anytime you come near him.
Sometimes he likes to eat food with his paws, which is funny to watch. He also loves to hang out in all our bathroom sinks :)
He just turned 1 on June 20th and now weighs 18 lbs. Shadow lives with Rudolph "Rudy" his Grey Tabby brother cat, Buddy "the elf" Aussiedoodle brother, and Penelope "Penny" his Yorkie sister.
We all love him so much!!!

Dax is 11 months old and weighs 18 lbs. Everyone’s eye catches his beauty.
He has learned to open every door in our home. I can't hide from him! Miss Fancy is very vocal she says mom all day, like a toddler. :)
We love them so much. They came from two separate loving homes in Russia to us at 4 and 5 months old.
We are planning to breed them in January. They are both Black Smoke. Hopefully, I will be posting pictures of kittens in the spring.

Angel is a Black Smoke Maine Coon female, 6 months old. At times I feel she should have been called Devil. My bedroom looks as if a cyclone had gone through.
But I wouldn't trade her for anything. She is so much fun, especially when she crawls up on my chest and purrs like a freight train.

My boys are almost 4 months old and are so loving and playful. So happy to have them in my family.
