Meet our Featured Coonies for August 2014!
Chloe, Spooky & BuBu, Buster Due Holstebro, Jasmine, Garvy and more are sizzling in this summer album.
Chloe is our first cat. We've had 3 big dogs over the past 20 years. No pets for the past 2 years. Chloe came home on July 19th.
It feels so good to have another member in the family again. She likes to follow us from room to room and be a part of whatever we are doing ... including sending email.
It is fun to watch her inquisitive mind as she figures out what next to check out. In just a month's time, she has definitely found a place in our hearts. We sure think she's pretty cute!!
Spooky & BuBu (Blue) were born on 11 MAY 2014 and are from the great breeders at CoonPlay Maine Coons in the Denver, Colorado Area.
They are both vibrant healthy kitties and are adjusting very well to their new home. :-)
Nov. 2013 when she came to live with us
Jasmine is approximately a year and a half old according to the vet. She was pregnant rescued from the side of the road.
The family that had her found out that their son was allergic to her so she came to my house and has been part of the family ever since.
She likes to be near water but not in it, she'll lay on the side of the tub while someone is in the bath and keep an eye on us.
She has a large vocabulary and talks to me for a while when I get home from work.
Garvy @ 8 months
Garvy was 8 months old at the time of this picture. It was his first experience up a tree and I think it shows.
He is now a year and 10 months old and almost 23 pounds.
Buster is 10 years of age :-) He is a big bully with a big heart.
When I got him he was a mess... His fur was one big knot, and his eyes full of puss everyday. So I went to the vet, and paid 1800,00 dollars... I don't mind doing it, I love him.
The vet called and said they had to remove all of his teeth on the right side of the mouth. He was in bad shape, and his eyes was fixed with surgery. Now I have the most happy and playfull cat.
We have a very special bond, and when someone is watching him for me, he is "cryin" the first day, and a little bit the next day. Even when I go to the market for milk, he is cryin.
After Buster lost his teeth, he has a tendency to look like Elvis, his upperlip gets stuck sometimes ^_^ and it puts a smile on my face. Everybody loves him, even people who are not fans of cats loves him, and wants him....
He is still the most playfull cat, and finds new thing to brake or throw on the floor everyday hahaha...
Romeo sitting in the garden.
Romeo is a beautiful grey Coon! I had got him at just 3 weeks old and raised him.
He likes to play fetch and loves to give my other kitty a hard time! Romeo has great pride in his tail, and if anyone touches his tail, he meows, snatches it from you and starts to groom it!
Romeo is not very vocal at all, and you dont often hear him meow unless he is being cheeky. He would rather suck up to you in the kitchen when he smells meat by rubbing his head against your ankles - He picks the "cute" approach. Needless to say - It works!
I do love him, he is such a character!
Peanut was found living in the drainage pipe under the sidewalk of the apartment complex I live at.
When he was found he was just four weeks old; his mother had left him.
I found him and fell in love with him and he has been mine ever since. His birthday is in October where he will be 1 year old.
We adopted each other about 3 months after my Mother passed 3 years ago....
I had needed someone to care of so I went to the local Human Society and adopted her....
She has been such a joy for me and hopefully for her too...
Zusa is about 12. He's an absolutely sweet and very gentle gentleman.
Unique and very proud, regal and delightfully inquisitive yet cautious, Mr. Little Man was born on July 15 2013 and he came home the following month.
Now a year old and tipping the scales at 19lbs, he isn't fully aware of how big he is, although his best buddy and big brother Sebastian the Keeshond is regularly reminded of this fact when they play.
He doesn't realize that he's a cat and not a dog, regularly "fetching" whatever I throw for his dog brother to retrieve and bringing it back to me dropping it at my feet.
The look of bewilderment from the dog is priceless!
When James past away in March, I couldn't get to fill in the emptiness he left behind.
When my heart started to fill less pain, only left with happy moments to remember, my partner and I thought that a Maine Coon one day was a Maine Coon for ever!
So we searched for a little miracle and found Tony from a wonderful Cat breeder. He is smoking handsome :). We went to visit him and showed us an overview of the affection we are about to get.
Tony loves laps, cuddles and purrs each time he has attention given! Can't wait to be in September to cuddle him all day!
Welcome in our lives Tony. xxx
Hi my name is Sammy. I live with my mom and dad dog parents. My human mommy found me in a parking lot when I was very young - I fit in the palm of her hand.
I am now 2 years and 2 months old - 15 pounds and 38" long tip to tip. The vet was so excited to see me he said he hasn't seen one in this area for a long time.
My favorite game is pretend Tiger - I will crouch down and chase after my human mommy and nip her rear and do the same with my doggy mom.
I honestly got him for free!! My family and i believe he is a Blue Maine Coon. Very talkative when playing.
At 10 1/2 weeks old, he weighed in at 3.6 pounds... His first day at home, he hissed and growled at all of us. Day by day I went in and sat with him.
Had a blanket with my dog's scent in his bed with him. After a week in a half, he finally came out and acted like he owned the place. He is an indoor cat, I live in a city area.
Now at a little over 3 months old, he plays with the dog, sleeps with our dog, and even drinks out of the dog's water dish.
Very curious about everything. Makes us laugh at him playing with a simple paper bag. His color amazes us... and he is so soft. Loves to snuggle. But Does not like the window sill... won't venture up there yet to look out the window.
Named him Mr.Squeaky, well because that is what he sounds like he is doing.
My boyfriend and I rescued Miss Pammy from our local cat coalition, she is approx, 1 1/2 to 2 year old female.
A wonderful cat, great with the kids and grand kids, very talkitative.
Runs around the house with a fuzzy little ball, and makes all kinds of weird sounds, also loves to play with her feather stick in the pillows, every morning.
Bush arrived at our house randomly on the 1st November 2004. She was named Bush because she arrived on the day that George Bush got re-elected president of the U.S.
She was a fully grown cat at that time. My thoughts are that her original owner must have died before she became part of our family. My parents weren't that keen on taking her in initially as we had never previously owned a pet.
However, they soon realised that she was as pure a pet as they come and she immediately felt part of our family. She was also housetrained by the time she came here. Over the years, she has brought immense joy to our lives. She talks (meows) back if you speak to her.
She wags her tail and approaches you if you call her name and is very playful. She always wants to be up on our knees looking for petting with her two front paws tucked in and opens doors with her paws. She has many lion like features due to her orange and brown based coat.
Many people have commented on what a lovely cat she is. We have her almost ten years now which means that she is likely to be at least 13 years old. She still has a good appetite and we hope that she has still has a good few years left in her.
After having Bush, I could never see myself getting any other breed of cat. It is clear that she is one of those gentle giants!
Gerl same age as Boboi
I have two Maine Coon Persian mixes, male and female.
They are named Boboi and Gerl, aged 11 months.
My cat lived across the street, she was so tiny. Probably six weeks old.She lived with two puppies that weren't cared for so they came to my house for breakfast and supper.
She decided to tag along and feast at my house. Her former owner would toss her out the door to be all alone with nothing but her fur coat. I have a pet door for my dog and she just came on in and adopted us. We have enjoyed her company for two years now.We just love her.
Pooky and his glaring
Pooky, originally Kristoff, is a Human Society pet. He was only 2 months old when we adopted him. He is a weird cat though. He sleeps under the blankets like a dog.
His face looks like he wears a mask. He eats a whole lot. You can give him a bowl of food and 10-20 minutes later it's empty! But I love him a lot. Pebbles would love him too.
When Pooky gets mad, his nose turns bright pink. His nose is pink anyways, but when he gets mad it gets bright pink.
Pooky is now 7 months old and getting fat. But he's still as lovable as ever! I really love Pooky.
Funny thing about Pooky:
If you leave a bag of cat food (wet or dry) or cat treats out, he'll chew on the bag to get the food.
