Theodore Edward Darcy (T.E.D) better known as Ted

I live in Surrey, UK, and have always dreamed of owning a Maine Coon. I brought Ted home at 16 weeks from an amazing breeder I highly recommend.

He was a tiny "ball of fluff" that fit right into my hands, and I’d often find him curled up under my arm in the mornings, having slept nearby.

Brave, bold, and full of character from the start, he also had an appetite that made me worry I'd go bankrupt!

Ted is best friends with my sister's Bengal/Siamese mix, and they bonded over a play tunnel. Late at night, we'd hear them scurrying around, sounding like they were laughing.

Now 9 months old and weighing a healthy 12 lbs, Ted spends most of his time indoors, but when the weather's nice, I let him explore the garden.

He loves watching our rabbits, and sometimes he’s allowed in their run, bouncing around and gently bopping them with his paw. Despite his playful nature, he's never unsheathed his claws.

My family and friends call him "the cat who thinks he’s a dog." He greets me at the door like a dog, sits by the door when he wants outside, and even brings me his food bowl when it’s empty.

Ted is incredibly sociable and loves curling up with anyone on the sofa, but he’s always by my side. If I’m on one side of a door, he’ll get upset if he’s on the other side.

Ted has brought so much joy and laughter into my life. I can't imagine being without him.

To anyone considering a Maine Coon, I say: DO IT! It will be the best decision you ever make.

Leo The Lovable!

Leo is 9 months old, full of fun, smarts and love wrapped in a white and orange fluff. He loves his doggie sister, Mia, but isn’t a fan of his sister from another mother, Pickles.

Leo loves his cat tree, playing fetch is also a favorite game. However, he absolutely hates when mommy leaves the house. He cries before I leave and then watches me sadly from the window.

I don’t know if my heart could love his silly self more.

Thor is now 9.5 months old and growing up beautifully.

He is such a character and has such a funny chirp, he sometimes pads around the house chirping to himself, stops for a minute and then carries on again.

Best friends with Thea, my naughty Tortie, he will follow her without thinking into any kind of adventure! xx

The Magnificent Faust

This is my Maine Coon named Faust! He’s 9 months old - even if he seems much bigger! He's very nice, crafty and very cuddly!

Everywhere I go in my house he follows me, from one room to another like a shadow!

He's the king of the house, in fact I find him sleeping on the breadbox or on the drying rack. But it doesn't matter... we love him!

Comments:

Barb:
Gorgeous coloring for a beautiful cat.

Arlene M. Baladi:
What a gorgeous fellow he is... is he a 'Smoke' Maine Coon Cat?

Carol MacCallum:
I have a black smoke that looks just like Faust!

Jessy:
Faust is gorgeous.

Midas' Book Review

by: Gerri in Arcadia, CA, USA

Midas is a 9-month old Maine Coon kitten and weighs 15 Ibs. He demands affection and is exceptionally gentle.

He looks very similar to the Maine Coon on the Maine Coon book, which I tried to take a picture of. He instead attacked the book.

Oliver St. James is a beautiful, energetic red/white 9 month old polydactyl male.

He loves to play and trill at the same time. He loves to play with his older brothers and sister but they don't seem to understand how he can pick up toys using his thumbs and they can't?

Although Oliver is our first purebreed MC, we previously had a mix. My husband asks me everyday "why did we wait so long to get a MC?"

My response is I don't know, that's why we need two! We are on the breeders wait list for another this summer and can't wait!

Missy from Denmark

Missy is a 9 months old cat everyone would find lovely. She’s incredibly social and always waits behind the door when you come home..

She can fetch and she loves it :) Not afraid of water and happy to go take shower with you :)

When I got Missy I didn't know she was deaf, I found out first after 2 weeks.

It was kind of difficult to have a deaf animal for the first time. But I realized she is still as precious as if she could hear. :)

Editor’s Note:
We couldn't help but notice Missy’s striking eyes - one golden, one blue! This rare feature, called heterochromia, is sometimes seen in White Maine Coons (or those "With White") and adds to her unforgettable face.

Want to know what causes this beautiful trait and what it might mean for your Coonie? Read more about heterochromic eyes!

J.T. Kirk is a 9 month old Maine Coon named for the famous Star Trek Captain. His best friend is a 9 month old human named Mina.

Editor’s Note: J.T. Kirk's relationship with Mina shows just how gentle Maine Coons can be with little ones.

Bailey, Malibu & Shelby

The first time we visited the Maine Coon breeder, we were infected with the Maine Coon virus. We love them!

Our original plan was to get one Maine Coon, but at the moment we have three: Bailey (Brown Tabby), Malibu (Black and White Coonie) and Shelby (Silver Tabby).

Bailey and Malibu are brothers and 14 months old, Shelby is their little sister and 9 months old.
