She’s a 17-pound female, almost 2 years old - beautiful, a little crazy, and endlessly entertaining.
She plays constantly, day and night. If no one joins in, she plays on her own, happy as a lark.
She also loves to steal things, and when caught in the act, she’ll lay on the item and act completely innocent.
Binx came into our lives after we lost a beloved lifelong feline friend, and she’s brought joy back into our home.
We adopted her from Cat Depot after 60 cats were rescued from a breeder in Virginia. She was still a kitten then, just 7 pounds.
Now she’s more than doubled in size and is one big girl - still with a few trust issues, but when she loves, she really loves.
She’s one of the strangest cats we’ve had (in the best way), and keeps us laughing. She even guards the house - if she hears something outside, she runs to the area growling like a wildcat.
Her fluffy tail curls up over her back like a Pomeranian, especially when she’s excited! I’ve heard that could be a genetic quirk, but honestly, it’s adorable.
Coonie, all the way!

Poe joined our family in April. He got kicked out of college and ended up on the streets of Brunswick, Maine before being turned into a shelter.
He fell in love at first sight with 'mom', spent his first month in his own room before exploring the big old house and his doggy siblings.
He and his Keeshond brother Maestro are best friends now.

Lacey is 10 years old and is a rescue cat. She has all the characteristics of a Maine coon except she is not interested in water and doesn’t make any chirping sounds.
When we first saw her she was in a very poor environment looking thin and not much fur covering her little body. We couldn’t leave her there so she came home with us.
Three years later we have a very fluffy cat and everyone who saw her kept telling us she was a Maine Coon. She is very laidback, likes being centre of attention and has made our lives so enjoyable.
We can’t think of being without her. She knows she is very important to us and every night when husband and I go downstairs to watch TV she comes with us and doesn’t go to bed until we do.
She loves to spread out on my lap whenever I sit in my easy boy chair. Lacey is a big girl approximately 15 lbs not fat but very long and heavy to carry around.
She is very smart and so different than any other cat we have had. Lacey is our baby and we so fortunate to have her

Hi everyone, I'm Lawrence from Colorado.. Meatball was an abandoned cat in Colorado Springs.
Meatball approached my daughter's home in January this year crying at her doorstep, scared and skittish...
My daughter put out a 'Meatball' on dish outside and she ate it, and then came inside the house and became my daughter's best friend...
Fast forward to May, my daughter moved out and needed a home for Meatball I accepted...she's thriving, putting on weight and happy...
She talks all time (meows) and somehow, I know what she wants... pets, snacks, look out the windows, go outside, play time and just good ol'e holding...
Thank you everyone.

About 2020, I saw Mr. Mufasa’s photo on a local shelter website. It was so disturbing - he was being held like a rag doll, with matted fur, declawed, and already 10 years old.
I went to rescue him immediately and arranged for vet care.
Now, at 13, he’s proud, confident, affectionate, and absolutely beautiful. I feel blessed to have found such a wonderful companion.
Please remember to check with your local shelters - there are so many amazing cats waiting for their forever homes.

Rescues do have them!!

To anyone looking for a Maine Coon but concerned about cost - rescues do have them! I adopted two beautiful boys through a shelter, and they turned out to be DNA-positive Coonies. You’d be surprised how many end up needing homes.

This is my rescue kitty who is now the king of the house!!! I have had him since he was a kitten after being found deep in the woods.
He is two years old now and with lots of loving, getting more and more acceptable of being cuddled and loved. My daughter named him Pork Chop but I call him my Cinnamon Bear!

He's a rescue. Found him in my yard. Told him he was too beautiful to leave him outside. So I brought him inside. He is now 14 and still is beautiful and my best friend

I adopted Mia from a wonderful foster group when I lived in Florida. She was found in an abandoned shelter with a litter of kittens. At the time she wasn’t even a year old.
After she nursed her kittens they found a litter of kittens without their mom and Mia nursed those kittens.
When I first met Mia her foster mom called her up on the couch and the first thing she did was roll on her back wanting me to rub her belly.
Her foster mom said she never did that for anyone so I guess she actually picked me to be her forever mom!
I love my sweet girl who is about 7 years old now, she is truly an angel.
