Maine Coon Miracle Update April 2011

Maui Lovin' Life
Little Maui the Maine Coon who walked into my life on January 21st this year...hiding under my deck calling to me at 8pm at night when for some reason i just happened to open the door and heard her pitiful cry.
Since that day we've been inseparable and I've never had the pleasure of owning a cat like this!
We went through a terrible time at first, I believe she is under a year old and after I rescued her found out she was pregnant.
My friend (who works at Mult. Co. Animal Control)of 8 years who found me my last rescued Rottweiler (passed away Jan 3 2011) suggested I adopt her legally. They spayed her, chipped her, wormed her, leukemia tested her, de-flea'd her, and licensed her all for $12.
Now normally I wouldnt want a bargain for any type of vet care for any of my pets, however I trust my friend and she assured me Maui would be well taken care of.
I picked Maui up the same day and was very impressed with the suture job and how she felt. She recovered very quickly and honestly it was the best spay/neuter experience i'd gone through in my 52 years.
Maui's behavior changed alot since her spay. She's still extremely attached to me, follows me every where and sleeps next to my head most of the time.
But she has changed in that she's turned into such a spaz clown monkey. I call her spazmoid because she is on full tilt about 99% of the day. She chases my other cats wanting to play relentlessly. I've never had a cat that is so full of life and also acts more like a small dog than a cat.
She's always waiting by the door when i get home. She sits by the bath fascinated with the water and bubbles at every bath. She has a routine of flopping over upside down between my feet when i go to the bath room. She loves to hide and run out for me and grab me with both arms around the leg as I walk by. She talks and purrs and squeaks in her own language.
I know she's probably part Maine Coone only because she is small and her ruff isnt quite as pronounced, but in every other way, she has all the other traits. I think i'm sold on this breed. I've never met a cat like this and when i talk to others who know of them they all say the same thing.
Also, when people meet Maui, she's always very forward and interested in new people. My other cats always hide and are terrified of strangers. Maui will be up on their lap "owning" them immediatley and the people always love her.
