Baby was a member of our family. He just showed up one day and he was so loving that we let him stay.

His personality was a cross between a dog and person. He was sweet, silly, yet sometimes ridiculously persnickety.

Whenever we had visitors he became their best friend. I don't think he realized that he was over twenty pounds as he was leaping up into someones arms like a kitten.

He loved to lounge with the kids on the couch and he rudely had my husband and I clinging to our own sides of the bed as he stretched across the middle.

He was especially cuddly if one of us happened to be ill. He let our tiny chihuahua puppy chew on his ears and he watched our hens like a guard dog.

He loved to have his tummy rubbed and happily followed me around the garden. We miss him terribly. I would give just about anything to find another cat just like him.

Nemo and Chase my Main Coon Cats
I am so sorry for your loss..we just lost two three year old main coon boy cats last week. They were vomiting, having breathing problems and enlarged kidneys for about a year now and had to be put to sleep. It was a hard pain saking decision to have to make.

I was wondering if anyone had any similar problems with their maine coon cats. We are so very heartbroken. They were so young. Nemo and Chase were the best cuddle-buddies and loved having their belly rubbed.

They were wonderful with my children...loved cuddling everyone and just making them feel all around better. They were so devoted. but most oh so beautiful. We so miss them everyday. There isn't a day we don't cry for them...our family will forever miss them!!!They were great cats!!!

Deepest condolences
My deepest sympathies! We have a Maine coon as well- amazing beautiful cats.

I am very sorry for the loss of your dear kitty, Baby. I do hope that, with time, the wonderful -and funny! - memories you have of him will replace the loss you're feeling now.

I understand the awful void the passing of a dear, furry family member leaves. I'm still recovering from my own grief at my beautiful, six-year-old Maine Coon, Mystic's sudden death last October.

She is irreplaceable as I'm sure you must feel that Baby is, but, you will, when you're ready, find a kitty that will grab another, special corner of your heart and will make new, lovely, different memories with you and your family.

I am going to be adopting a boy Coon soon who is a three-year-old retiree from two of my dear friends' Maine Coon cattery outside of St. Louis, Missouri.

I know my new Coon, Huckelberry, won't replace Mystic but having him join our family will bring new energy to places that have been dark since she left us. I know your next kitty will be there when you are ready to find him/ her!! Bless your Baby's sweet spirit. He is surrounded by inexpressible Love now!
Sincerely,
Pat (Fayetteville, AR, USA)

I've lost one of my dearest babies this week , too. James T. Kirk, a black& white Mainecoon, a big, big boy. IĀ“m sure James and Baby are together now. Cats make a remarkable difference in our lives.

So feel your pain!
We just lost our 11 year old Maine Coon - George Cooney - he has left a hole in our hearts. He had brain cancer and he got sick very quickly, hardly time to process the whole thing.

They are a breed that you really miss because they are always with you. We have his sister Rosemary Cooney (Rosie for short), a Cockapoo named Abby and we rescued a little Tabby - Kitty, but we so miss our George!

Sorry for your loss

We lost my Mittens two weeks ago. He looked just like your baby and acted the same way. I miss him terribly. Hugs to you
