I just read your comments. Thank you for the DNA information. Buddy will soon be 4 yrs old and weighs almost 20lbs.

Looks and shaped just like my all-black verified coon mix. At 16 lbs and not fat, I'd say it is definitely a Maine Coon mix. Of course, the DNA thingy will tell you more. I used Basepaws DNA test for my cat. It is pricey, at about $160, but they frequently have sales. I got mine last September from Amazon at 50% off. Always remember, coon or not, they are all very special to us :)
