Monsieur Kitty Summer 2003-Dec 5 2012

by Cassie McIntyre
(Laurel, MD)

Monsieur Kitty came into my life when I was a teenager. We became instant friends. My mom originally brought her home to take care of a mouse problem in the house. 3 months later, the house was mouse free.

She was the most incredible mouser I have ever known. She then found a new job as our barn cat, fiercely protecting the horse feed. She was the most affectionate cat. She could lie with you for hours, warm and cuddly. I loved her purr.

I joined the Air Force after high school, and she has been my constant companion. She moved with me to Oklahoma and then to Maryland. She has been with me through everything. My 4 year old son loved her. She taught him to be gentle.

I'm going to miss our daily life together. The sound of that stupid bell on her collar as she jumped on my bed in the mornings. The way she would rub up against me and purr and knead at me with her paws, eventually getting frustrated and the purring would become an insistent MEOW! MEOW! I WANT BREAKFAST! WAKE UP!

I'm going to miss the way she would beg as I made my lunch for the day. And the way I would always give in and slip her a piece of ham. I'll miss the way she always greeted me when I came home from work or school.

I'll miss fussing over her high maintenance fur. I'll miss coming home from PetSmart after spending $20 on cat toys, only for her to be more interested in the plastic bag they came in. She loved plastic bags. I loved her. And I miss her so much. May she rest peacefully. I'll never forget her.

Your Loss
by: Victoria
So sorry for your loss. I lost my George the same week and am still so sad. Monsieur Kitty is with you in spirit!

I am so sorry :(
just know that you are not silly in the least bit. our pets become part of the family and cats are so full of personality.

They are almost like children, into everything. I know my dutchy du is so playful and I get irritated him at times but then I just laugh at him and give him a quick hug and off he goes into something else. We all understand but it so very hard to let go. I still miss my Oreo, he was a one of a kind.. God bless you child..

True Love
by: Mari
So happy that you shared your loving relationship with your cat. I feel the same with my pets, and it is good to know there are others who understand and have experienced the love and affection that a pet can give. You have my sympathy.

Thank you for your support! <3
by: Cassie McIntyre
I am overwhelmed by this outpouring of support! Thank you so much for all of your kind words. The past few days have been so rough, I miss her so much and feel terrible there was nothing I could do for her. Our coons are definitely blessing in our lives.

Saying goodbye
by: Melissa
It is such a wonderful joy to have our pets become our best, most wonderful friends. Constant, dependable, loving, natural, they are always exactly who they are and are never questioned.

And they never question who we are, no matter what we are going through... You are bonded for eternity, you and Monsieur Kitty! You are both so blessed! Peace...

Missing Her For You
Finding it hard to read your goodbye to her because it reminds me of how attached we are to our found Maine Coon Captain O'hi who found us in the Arizona desert in January of 2002.

He is still with us but I am painfully aware that with this January it will be 11 years that we found this part of our lives who reminds me of your Monsieur Kitty. Feel OK to feel and show your grief, we all understand.

Mom of Dozer
by: Karen Conner-Beck
So sorry for your loss! She sounds a lot like my Maine Coon boy, Dozer, who also came to me in 2003 at about the age of 2 when I found him coming out from under a parked car.

They have a lot of the same characteristics and behavior. The bell, the bed in the morning, ham, plastic bags, etc. When it is time, you will find another Maine Coon who desperately needs you. With my sympathy,
Karen

Sending Condolences
by: Deanna
I just read your post and wanted you to know that you and your family are being sent my condolences and very best thoughts.

You've written so well about how much you loved her and how important she became in your life. I'm so glad you had each other and the years spent in deep abiding love and companionship.

I know that there will be no way to replace her. I just hope that the time spent with her will make your son a "cat person," which means that maybe someday down the line, you can bring another sweet cat into your life to continue your son on his road to being a slave to cats (or staff...).

Sending my best and hoping your memories will help as you hurt in missing her,
D

Please accept my deepest sympathy

Your Mouser

God bless you for giving her such a beautiful life. Don't be sad! Take comfort in the fact that your precious girl is waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge and playing with lots of plastic bags while she waits.
