My cat was born feral, but i think she may have some Maine Coon in her?

She's about 2 years old, roughly 2 1/5 feet long, and approximately a foot and a half tall, she weighs 16.7 pounds.

Is shy, but very lovable. loves her food, vocal esp when she thinks she's getting food. She's got tufts of fur growing from between her toes on the bottom of her foot..

Hi there! What a pretty girl. She's a good example of a feral or stray cat with unknown lineage. I can see why you are wondering about her.

As with most situations like this, it's impossible to say for sure. A Maine Coon mix could look just like her. Or a fluffy housecat could. Since she is such a big girl and has fluff between her toes, I would venture to say that she is a mix.

Actually, her soft bunny-like fur and markings reminds me of a Ragdoll. I wonder if she has any of that in her? There is a nice example of this cat breed on this page: Large Domestic Cat Breeds.

In any event, she's lovely and clearly special!

Ragdoll Mix?
by: Maine Coon Cat Nation

Hi There,

Sorry, the photos didn't come through. Ella really is a pretty girl. She's unusually big and has a very unique coat. So these things suggest she's a Maine Coon or Ragdoll mix.

Based only on her appearance, especially her coloring and soft fluff, I would lean toward Ragdoll. Just remember that all I can give you is an educated guess.

With a feral or rescued cat, there will always be an aura of mystery about them. We can take a gander at what we think they look like, but there is never any way to be sure.

In a situation like yours, many people will research the breed, and decide whether they believe their cat is a mix. So, the final decision is up to you!

Enjoy Beautiful Ella,
~Carrie

Hello its me again. Ragdoll? maybe..
by: C. Liebow

My cat Ella is just over 2 years of age, she weigh's about 17.6 pounds and 2.6 feet long, and stands aprox 1.5 feet tall. She does have some of the described attributes of a Ragdoll. She is very docile and seldom bites or scratches. Our older Cat Rocket likes to pounce on her, and she will sometimes defend herself but prefers flight over a fight. She is a very floppy cat, when picked up i can carry her like a toddler on my hip, and often find her sleeping on her back on the floor with her front legs tucked under her chin, back legs reclined to one side or the other, sometimes both. She does seem to have the 'ruff' of either a coon or a ragdoll and plenty of fur on her rear.. She dosn't tend to matt, and mostly enjoys being brushed. She will "chirp" at me and if i replicate the noise she will cock her head to the side and "chirp" back at me. She also does this if she thinks she's getting food, although where thats concened she loves her dry food (sometimes pushing rocket out of the way, and sometimes laying down while eating) dosn't like most cat treats, only the beef flavor. Please let me know what you think, here are some pictures of her as a kitten and adolescent.
