Sha Sha needs a new home

Sha Sha needs a new home

I am a fellow rescuer in Beaumont Texas and there is always a story.

My brother in law has an acquaintance who rescued this cat about 3 yrs ago. She has been altered and is very loving toward him, but has gotten progressively aggressive with the other resident cats to the point that he feels it is best to find her another home where she can be the only cat.

He was in the process of taking her to the local animal shelter where her time there would be short, due to limited space, it is not a NO KILL!! So there is a high probability she would be euthanized within a few days.

So being a rescuer of course they contacted me. I feel it best to get her into a rescue or an only cat home. He said she loves to get in his she loves her person. In order to adopt her... a vet check and home visit will be required, as well as references. Adoption Fee: $100.00

Is Sha Sha a good lap cat and friendly with children (8 and 13 yo)?

I would think that you would want to provide paperwork on a vet check to somebody who's going to give you money and do you a solid.....

Interested in Sha Sha
by: Linda

If you think Sha Sha fits the requirements for a handicapped lady.....heres the story...

I would be interested in adopting a Maine coon/mix. Let me rephrase that.... I have a disabled friend that I am helping to find a cat for her to adopt. (I would pay the fees)

This lady is 33 years old and was involved in a terrible accident that left her permanently disabled. (2012) They told her she would never walk or talk again due to traumatic brain injury. She not only walks and talks but holds down a job now ;-) She has progressed with leaps and bounds and only God knows her struggles.
This cat would be an emotional support cat eventually. My friend is able to live on her own here in our apartment complex near Texas Motor Speedway. She has no family here in Texas and is quite alone . She desperately needs a companion. She loves animals and fell in love with my two dogs. Originally she thought she would like to have a dog but after talking about it with her I think a cat , specifically a Maine coon would be ideal. I have owned a Maine coon mix that adopted me after hurricane Katrina in 2005 when I worked in New Orleans for Fema. The personality of the Coonie is why I feel it would be ideal for Shawna. She has had some very dark times and I really believe she needs someone to love , care for and comfort her when she is "down" . I so admire this young woman as she has come so far since her accident. For the last 3 years she had a job about a mile from the apartment. She walked to and from work every day!!! But now she started a new journey with a new job right next door to our apartment complex .

Specifically I/we would like a female kitten or young cat that could grow with her.

Thanks and God Bless!!

Bubba chilling on the couch

Bubba chilling on the couch

Bubba is a seven year old Maine Coon. He is very friendly, but shy. He takes a little while to become comfortable with you.

He was a rescue cat I got when he was just a kitten. He loves to talk and will answer when you talk to him. Bubba is a cuddler and will sit in your lap all day if you let him. He doesn't mind other cats, but he does not like dogs. He would prefer to be in a home without children.

He is gray and white and he weighs about 17 pounds. Bubba loves to look out the window and roll around. Bubba was declawed so he is strictly an indoor cat.

What a handsome boy!
by: Donna J

I have had several cats over my lifetime. I am 67 soon to be 68 and retired. All my cats have been strictly inside only and have lived to at least 18 years age. I had one, Annie, that I found in the hallway of my apt building in Florida. I knocked on doors but no one claimed her so I gave little orphan Annie a home. She moved from Florida to Oklahoma with me, would play tag with me, fetch a small rubber ball like a dog, would stand and dance when she wanted a treat, craved cantaloupe and was an extreme snuggler. She lived to be 22 years old. I have two cats presently, Nola(age 16) and Mandy(age 13)-found her in a wood pile in May 2004, about 3 weeks old I bottle fed her every four hours: I had my daughter's pit-greyhound (Saddle) at the time and Sadie claimed Mandy as here special project-taught her to drink from a bowl and eat from a dish and let Mandy sleep on her back or wrapped in her paws. Both cats were rescues and even though they are playful and well I know their time will come to cross the rainbow bridge (note: Sadie passed away last year at the age of 17). I currently do have a dog a little Jack Russell(Penny age 17) that had been my Mother's dog and has always been very mellow but is now deaf and blind from old age and I will be losing her very soon as her quality of life is deteriorating. Penny came into a household as a puppy so was raised with cats and is submissive to cats but now days just says drinks and sleeps.I do not plan on another dog, Sadie and Penny were special family situations. I have always wanted a Maine Coon and Bubba would be a great addition to a home with a lot of love and attention to give and where the animal residents live long and prosper. I live in Norman, Oklahoma so I am not too far from you. Please tell me Bubba is still available. I have cared for cats all my life. I can give Bubba a good loving home. I will contact you via email so you can contact me.

Want to adopt or rescue a Maine Coon
by: Brenda Walker

This breed is so beautiful! I am real interested in adopting a Maine Coon or rescue work. I had a Russin Blue and had to have him put down. He was 23lb., and had a personality like no other! He would open the sliding screen and bring in baby bunnies in the spring. He would not hurt them and it drove the dog nuts! I want a Maine Coon really bad, nothing like your bst friend meeting you at the door!

Jax is a beautiful, adult, Maine Coon, tabby mix. He's an indoor cat, weights 14 lbs and is 9 years old.

I rescued him 8 years ago from the Humane Society. He takes a bit to warm up to strangers, but is very loving to his family and is very talkative and playful.

It is with a heavy heart we post this, but feel he'd be happier in an adult only home (we now have a young child). He's had all of his shots, is neutered and litter box trained.

Cloud & Storm

by Joseph & Bette Macaluso
(Boerne, TX)

We have two feral kittens. They are females about 12 weeks old.
Both have been spayed, received all their shots and are micro chipped via Hill Country Animal League in Boerne.

We canot keep them and would like them placed for adoption at a no kill shelter.

Cloud (the cream colored one) should be easily domesticated. Her sister Storm will take a bit more patience.

Please contact us.
Thank You,
Bette and Joe Macaluso
